Our Mission

The mission of the Koota is to promote the rich cultural heritage of the state of Karnataka, India, in Oregon.

The specific objectives and purposes of this association are to

• • Promote the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Karnataka, India, in Oregon

  • Provide a stage for traditional performing arts and otherwise promote artistic expression within the Kannada community

  • Teach the language, history and traditions of Karnataka

  • Promote and encourage the use of Kannada

  • Promote diversity, inclusiveness and provide opportunities for new ideas, management and participants

  • Advance Indo-American cultural exchange, and

  • Serve and support the local community and charities
