I was born and raised in Namma Bengaluru and grew up as a performing artist. Recently, I started to explore short films and music videos. I currently serve in leadership positions in three nonprofit organizations, including Koota.
I have been associated with Portland Kannada Koota ever since I moved to pdx in 2011. I have enjoyed volunteering, performing skits, mad-ads and stand-up comedies in Koota events. I have made lot of friends through Koota and now I wish to contribute to best of my abilities for the success of Portland Kannada Koota.

Born and raised in Namma Bengaluru and moved to US in 2007. Very passionate about Kannada language, culture and music since childhood. Born in a family of teachers, i am very passionate to teach and share knowledge with people. Since i moved to US I have been part of multiple kannada koota across different states supporting and serving the Kannada community.
I have been associated with the Kannada Koota here in Portland since 2018 and currently serving as one of the board members. Kannada Koota has helped me find and network with so many likeminded people around here and given us a platform to learn and be part of the Kannada events here. In my free time, i love to do gardening, listening to music and spending time with my family.

I am from Malenadu, Chickmagalur and moved to Portland in 2018. We moved from Tokyo, Japan and were thrilled to meet so many fellow Kannadigas in Portland. Always was taught “to give back more than you take” since childhood. I am honored to be part of the Portland Kannada Koota Board to serve in my capacity to bring our amazing community together. Born and raised in Davangere, Karnataka, I moved to Portland in 2018. Since then, I've been actively involved in the Koota events, where I’ve had the opportunity to connect with the vibrant Kannada community. After years of enjoying and participating in these events, I'm now honored to serve as an executive committee member, contributing to the growth and engagement of our community.

Although there are good number of Kannadigas in and around Portland, there wasn't any registered organization. In spite of that, our Koota has never failed to organize two programs every year! All thanks to our dedicated volunteers – they make it happen every year!
It just becomes an extended family when it comes to organizing any event.
In 2011, We formally registered and filed for nonprofit status.
With effect from 09/21/2016 our Koota has been exempt from federal income tax under IRC Section 501 (c) (3).

ನಮ್ಮ ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟ ನಡೆದು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರಣ -
ಅನಾದಿ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ರಾಮಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಧರ್ಮಪತ್ನಿ ಗಾಯತ್ರಿ, ತಿರುವಲ್ಳೂರು ಕೇಶವನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಧರ್ಮಪತ್ನಿ ನಂದಿನಿ, ಮತ್ತು ತಿರುಮಾಲಿ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಧರ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿ ಪರಿಮಳ ಅವರುಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಚೊಕ್ಕವಾಗಿ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಬಾರಿ ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗಿ ದೀಪಾವಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಯುಗಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ೧೯೯೦ರ ಸರಹದ್ದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆನಂದ ವರ್ಧನ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಯಶ್ರೀ ದಂಪತಿಗಳ ಆಗಮನವಾಯಿತು. ಮೂರಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಕೂಡಿದರೆ ಐದು ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಈ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಂಸಾರದವರು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ದೀಪಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಂತೆ ರೊಕ್ ಕ್ರೀಕ್ ಚರ್ಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ದೀಪಾವಳಿಯೇ ಇಂದಿನ ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬುನಾದಿ ಆಯಿತು. ಆ ದೀಪಾವಳಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವೇ ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟದ ಜನನದ ನಾಂದಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಶ್ರೀಯುತ ಸುರೇಶ ಚಿತ್ತೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಅರುಣ ಕೂಟದ ಪತಾಕೆಯನ್ನು ಉದಾರವಾಗಿ ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ರಾರಾಜಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೇತನ ಅವರುಗಳ ಕೊಡುಗೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ನಂಜನಗೂಡು ಬಿ.ವಿ. ಪಂಡಿತರ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ ಮುಕುಂದ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಯವರು ಮೈಕಾಸುರನ ಮರ್ಧಿಸಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟದ ನಿನಾದ ೬೪ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರು ಕಾಡನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಮಾಡಿದ ದಾರಿಗೆ ಡಾಮರು ಹಾಕಿ ಉನ್ನತಗೊಳಿಸಿದವರು ಸುಹಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ವನಿತಾ ಕುರ್ಸೆ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು. ನಮಗೆ ಸುಶ್ರಾವ್ಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ನೀಡುತ್ತ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಸಾಯಿ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಮತ್ತು ಉಷಾ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು ಕೂಟದ ಹಿಮ್ಮೇಳ ಗಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಒಮ್ಮತದಿಂದ ಚುನಾಯಿತರಾದರು.
ತ್ರಿಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾದ ಈ ನಿಮ್ಮ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಪಾಟೀಲರು. ಅವರು ಹಾಕಿದ ಪಂಚಾಂಗದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಿನಾಶ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಧವಿ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು, ತದ ನಂತರ ಅರವಿಂದ-ಶ್ವೇತ ದಂಪತಿಗಳು ಒಂದು ಪಂಚತಾರ ಮಳಿಗೆಯನ್ನೇ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟದ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪಸರಿಸಿದರು.
ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟದ ಈ ಕಳೆದು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ದಿಗ್ಗಜರು ಕಲೆ ಹಾಕಿತ್ತು, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗ್ರಗಣ್ಯರು, ಸರ್ವಶ್ರೀ ಗಳಾದ ರಮೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಮಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಗೋಕುಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ಚಂದ್ರಿಕಾ ಪ್ರಹ್ಲಾದ, ಕೊಡುಗೈ ದಾನಿಗಳಾದ ಶಂಕರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಭಾ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥನ್, ವಸಂತ ಮತ್ತು ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಕಲಾವರ್, ಅನು ಮತ್ತು ಮುರಳಿ ತಿರುಮಲ, ಚಿತ್ರಾ ಮತ್ತು ವಸಂತ್ ತೋವಿನಕೆರೆ, ಹೀಗೆ ಅನೇಕನೇಕರು.
ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತರ ಅಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಂಚಿನಂತೆ ರಾರಾಜಿಸುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಶುಭವನ್ನು ಕೋರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ. ಜೈ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ !!
